The Mukherjee Trust sponsored a new class in the festival for choirs from primary schools with less than 100 pupils.

In first place was the Swinderby singing group and the Potterhandworth choir came second. Both schools were highly praised for their performances by the adjudicator and were presented with prize money funded  by the Trust.

Transport costs to and from the venue in Lincoln were also awarded.

The Trust would like to thank the organisers of the Festival for all their hard work in staging the event and, in particular, Paul Hill for his support in making this new collaboration possible.

The Mukherjee Trust will continue to sponsor the Small Schools class at next year’s Festival and help with necessary transport costs for all competing schools.
