My career path in teaching took me from Manchester to Hertfordshire and then the Fylde coast before I became Head of one of Lincolnshire’s Grammar Schools. I retired in 2009 and was delighted to accept an invitation to join the Trust. Since then it has been a real privilege helping primary schools with funding innovative projects that not only benefit their children but also have an impact on the wider school community. The values that Sibu Mukherjee and Joan Johnson eschewed are very much at the heart of what we do. I am still a governor at the primary school in my village and I sit on a County panel that deals with school admissions. In addition, I am involved in trying to secure the future of our local park and of the youth club. My other interests include keeping up with the family, travel and the arts generally.
